With a century evolution of new technologies and operational habits, this system has remained largely the same. To better understand the performance and reliability of this system, an in-depth exercise is currently being undertaken by an operator for their offshore assets. This talk covers the following points:

  • A fusible loop system brief (history, how it works, current design and operating philosophy)
  • Current symptomatic issues/problem statement
  • Adopted sampling and investigation methodologies
  • Latest findings
  • Looking ahead

Digitalization: An Opportunity for Saving Maintenance Costs and Optimize Sustainable Operations

Dr. Jana Frank, Country Business Head – Singapore & Malaysia, Henkel

Industrial assets are often maintained and serviced preventively in fixed intervals that are determined based on experience and general rules of thumb about component wear and service life. However, reactive approaches are inefficient and highly unsustainable. Assets still ends up breaking down between routine maintenance visits, which in worst case can unexpectedly shut down entire plants or production lines. Digitalization now allow operators to constantly listening to their equipment monitor the condition of their assets: Strategically placed data-enabled sensor solutions can immediately detect deviations from normal operation or condition. This helps to increase maintenance efficiency and effectiveness by monitoring the status of critical assets in real time and to pre-empt failure by providing actionable maintenance recommendations.
